Apology

I'm sorry if I offended anyone with previous posts. I don't think happiness, or the right-side table, or others, are bad necessarily. Guess I was just being biased.

Ode to the other cafeteria table

A poem. Adapted from 'Where is the love", by the BEP

What's wrong with the other table, mama
People sittin' like they ain't got no mamas
I think the whole 8 gifties addicted to the dominance
Only attracted to things that'll bring you prominence

Over our half-assed reassurance, yeah, we try to stop division
But we still got lotsa people there sittin'
In the right-side table, the big spotlight
The those-people and the wanna-bees and the parasites

But if you only have love for your own table
Then you only leave space to put on labels
And to label only generates separation
And when you separate then you're bound to get isolate-d, yeah

Partiality is what you demonstrate
And that's exactly how division works and operates
Man, you gotta have unity just to set it straight
Take control of your feet and get to the other table

Let your body gravitate to the unity, y'all, y'all
People hurtin', people hatin'
They ain't prominent but still they feelin'
Can you acknowledge what you shun
And would you turn to the other table

Father, Father, Father help us
Send some guidance for our community
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the unity (Unity)

Some people used to alternate
Between the tables, though really they waiting for the date
When they got so right-side table they could no longer relate
So ask yourself where have they gone? (Where have they gone?)

It just ain't the same, from last year
This new seating is strange, is the right-side table weird
If unity and wholeness are so strong
Why are there pieces of us that don't belong

So I could ask myself really what is goin' wrong
In these tables that we sittin' on people keep on givin' in
Makin' different decisions, going to the dark side
Not respectin' each other, deny thy sister and brother
A divide is goin' on but the reason's undercover

The truth is kept secret, it's swept under the impunity
If you never know truth then you never know unity
Where's the unity, y'all, come on (I don't know)
Where's the truth, y'all, come on (I don't know)
Where's the unity, y'all

People hurtin', people hatin'
They ain't prominent but still they feelin'
Can you acknowledge what you shun
And would you turn to the other table

Father, Father, Father help us
Send some guidance for our community
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the unity (Unity)

Where is the unity (The unity)?
Where is the unity (The unity)?
Where is the  unity, the unity, the unity?

I feel the weight of the tables on my shoulder
As I'm gettin' older, y'all, people gets colder
Most of us only care about our inclusion
Wanting to fit in got us followin' our different direction

Wrong information always shown by the ones who dominate
Whose voices are heard, whose examples are seen, followed
Happiness is the main criteria
Infecting our minds faster than bacteria
Wanna act like what we see in them

Yo', whatever happened to the values of humanity
Whatever happened to the fairness in equality
Instead of spreading connection we're spreading isolation
Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity

That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' under
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' down
There's no wonder why sometimes I'm feelin' under
Gotta keep my faith alive till unity is found
Now ask yourself

Where is the unity?
Where did the left-side table people go?
Where are they now?
Where is the unity?

Father, Father, Father, help us
Send some guidance for our community
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the unity?

Sing with me y'all:
Three months, three months (We only got)
Three months, three months (That's all we got)
Three months, three months
And something's wrong with it (Yeah)
Something's wrong with it (Yeah)
Something's wrong with the ta-ta-tables, yeah
We only got
(Three months, three months)
That's all we got

(Three months, three months)

A form of injustice

The bad female teachers in our school are not really helping their gender get the higher pay checks deserved by the good female teachers.

Choice

When will we realize that the traits we want, need, and will pursue in people are not rareness, magicalness, or transcendence, but actually people who will push us higher.
Namely, who can kiss-up, those of greater prominence, the cheerful ones, and people who can make you look good, people who behave how you want in a way that makes you feel good.
Why did I write 'realize' as if it were true.
It is a matter of preference, adaptation, something to be learned.
You have realized when someone says, 'it's so unfair that we don't have a gifted grade 8 trip this year!, that the right answer is not the one that is correct (well the school cannot afford it in their budget. After all, we still have the Ottawa trip, which the grade 8 gifties are not really taking advantage of).
People would want the right answer: enthusiastic agreement. Of course we all know this, this social rule of not making people appear negatively by raw disagreement. Breaking it is a luxury.
On another note, it is really refreshing when someone overtly contradicts what you were passionately saying. It reminds us of our insignificance and fights our egos to see the other viewpoint. That is after all, how to be open-minded, how to be holistic, how to be aware. Once one has reached that point, they might feel as if it were unnecessary, as their ego was fine and flourishing in the first place, potentially offending some (on a small scale) by their exaggerated, passionate statements of opinion, but conveniently the ego puts a blind spot over it. One way to happiness.
Ultimately of course, it is a choice, between happiness and meaning. Happiness at the cost of meaning and meaning at the cost of happiness. Preference. Adaptation.

P.S  Please disagree more. Say, I respectfully disagree or something.

Overthinking

When scoring a goal, do you consider the feelings of the goalie?
When complaining, do you think about the consequences?
When talking, do you think of whether it is worth being said?
When degrading something, do you consider how others might feel?
When sending an message to more than one person, are you mindful of the placing of their names, one after another?
When you act, do you ever consider if someone is watching you and what they feel about it?
When you change, do you consider how others will change because of it?
When you act, do you consider how other people might interpret it?

Sober

What is greater?
Spews of hyper energy, continuous laughter, and highs,
the kind of riding, screaming, roller coasters
getting drunk, getting physical (not in the wrong way)
or
having thought-provoking conversations

I realized recently that there wasn't much, at least to me, to talk about any more. There was so little worth talking about that is feasible to talk about.
But the silence, it is dreaded.
The holes in our lives, they must be filled by breath.
What kind of an insulation is breath?

Talk about conversation pollution.

Isn't meaningful conversation greater? It should be. Because highs, they don't last.
A drug-addict would always come back for more.
While remembering a time of being wasted, you might go,
"ahhhhhhh....yeahhhhhh...goooooood timesssssssss...."
while your head swivels on your neck in awkward angles and you fling around your limbs.
And it does feel satisfying, remembering those laugh-triggering times.
For a moment.
But after a while, the sentimental connection fades from your memory
Then to maintain the high, you must take more.
So really, you can not stop.
Like going on a roller coaster, in the moment, it feels great
But the physical sensations, they will fade
Unlike something substantial. The value of meaningful conversation doesn't fade.
I read in PT, how smart people don't enjoy sex as much.
There isn't much value in sex, except for the emotional aspect.
You enjoy it, then after it's over, the enjoyment fades.
It's ephemeral.

And honestly, hyperness and other general getting high and not being aware, seem so primitive.

A creation story

In the beginning there was nothing.
Then there was a big bang.
The particles, being clearly different, formed their own little cliques
They were known later to be stars.
Of course, the densely packed together stars didn't last
The clique got undone, and expanded gradually
Forming red giants from the result of particles attempting escape
Sometimes there were blasts of fire from the stars, naturally
Because some particles got kicked out
These particles lost their fire and became misfits
But there were soon enough of these outcasts to group together into another clique, a planet
The planets found a star and gravitated around it
They gained power, and soon enough some particles got kicked out from the planets
These particles lost their planet-ness and became misfits
But there were soon enough of these outcasts to group together into another clique, a moon
The moons found a planet and gravitated around it
Things were going very well in the universe, until some particles got kicked out of the moon
At that point they had nothing else to be, so they decided to be life
That was the beginning of life, in unicellular organisms
The sun and planet particles, when they got kicked out, also decided to be life
These three different types of particles, through the ages, evolved
The star particles, from unicellular organisms to dragonflies to peregrine falcons to humans
The planet particles, from unicellular organisms to beetles to tigers to humans
The moon particles, from unicellular organisms to minnows to sharks to humans
Of course, there were sub-divisions along the way, following different paths of evolution
The divisions of star, planet and moon soon were outdated, ancient
Humans are made of either star, planet, or moon particles
But ultimately star particles, as the moon came from the planet and the planet came from the star
But ultimately the big bang
But ultimately nothing
Humans all came from nothing
Of course, nothing is all the same thing
A human is made up of many different things, all past lives, past particles
It is impossible to know all of what you have been
How can you remember?
Zoom out to the star, planet, and moon particles and there are the levels of prominence
Those who shine brightly, with a gravitational pull and those who fall, who gravitate around others
Occasionally our own star, the sun, will release some particles in a solar flare
These beings always seem to have evolved from star-dust later than the others
Zoom out to star particles, and we have all came from the same thing
How does it matter when we are all related and share a common ancestor?
Zoom out even more, it began with a bang.
Zoom out even more, it began with nothing.

Recycle

And all of our lives, out of all lives, through life we will be growing.
In adolescence, our ancient particles wishing to return to the origin
Expanding outwards just as the stars have, ages ago
It is why we grow, so we can touch the stars
So the particles can escape from the confinement of a human body
And become universal
But we already have
We always were

The universe began with a big bang.
Boom, we enter the world from our mother's womb
The universe came from nothing
And we were nothing, non-existent

Soon enough we will be recycled
The particles will go through different lives, different stages
On and on
We are a phase
Within a phase, within a phase
You take, and at the end of your life, you give
The particles you are made of, what are their pasts?
What will be their futures?
Are we all just humans?
Or are we much more?

Holistic

    A chat with Rebecca:
Well you have this unique part-oriented perception
And you're good at writing
It's like your brain is one huge mind map, though that's true for everyone
And you can go from one connection to another instantly
The parts make up the whole
And things once revealed seem obvious
Writing is just many parts
Plot characters setting flow sentence length
And the words are made up of parts
And sentences are too
It's like taking seeing the whole through the parts
A picture may be of a horse, but it is, after all, a picture
The horse has legs
And a muzzle and eyes, tail, mane
Altogether it's a horse
But the picture is of a horse
I think that a horse is a horse and a picture is a picture
You think people have 2 eyes, one nose, 2 ears, one mouth
I say they're a girl or a boy
You say they're human, or not human, you say the parts of a human
Then a human is not a human
A horse is not a horse and a picture is not a picture

Wouldn't it be cool if everything wasn't just what it was? Wouldn't it be so much better if people saw themselves, people, as not just people, but unique individuals who they could learn from, and fully bask in the awe-full-ness?
But by being non-holistic, you only see the parts. Of people, limiting your limited perception of who they are. And reduce them. They could have learned something from you too. Maybe they could've been your friend. You could have learned something, you could have gained a friend, or maybe more, you lost the connections that didn't exist. Most importantly you lost the opportunities. In my opinion, that's what's worth the most. After this year, you may miss the people, but it's so un-holistic. You'll miss the people in the small confined  world you thrive in, that everyone lives in their own, but what of the others? Will you miss the others? What will there be to miss if you don't know them well in the first place?
Being un-holistic, you're narrowing your options. Making the world smaller and the universe bigger. Miss the opportunities.
I don't get what's the obstacle. Preventing people from reaching out. Actually, I do, but I don't get why we can't overcome it. Non-face-to-face communication is so easy nowadays.
They are more than they seem, though. If a one-year old is so cute, so fascinating, so fussed over, then a thirteen year old should be too, thirteen-fold.
Be holistic! We're made of the same stuff.
