Someone said you should surround yourself with people who push you higher.
Whether they push the sky up or the earth down, if they motivate you to be a better person and rise your standards or if they make you feel like a better person and lower your standards. It seems like a war between the truth and ignoring the truth. Surrounding yourself with people you consider to be of less than you won't be the truth, but you wish it was, because they'll always be people better than you.
When I got into gifted I didn't feel like I lost relative self-worth like some people say they did. I suppose it's when you reach that state of no-longer-happy-and-ignorant your mind launches into depressive thinking and you realize how good everyone else is.
If you surround yourself with people who push you higher wouldn't life be better?
