How to keep your new years resolutions is a topic way overdone.
Though reading a few of those articles, whether online, on a newspaper, or a magazine, you'd be surprised at the mundanity. Or maybe it would be predictable, depending on yourself.
When I read it, I thought, is this the norm? People setting resolutions like losing weight, spending less and saving more; it's appearance and money. Obligations too, like spending time with family. Yes I did think it was rather stupid. First of all because 22% fail their resolutions within a week, obviously because they failed to define their goals and make micro-movements. But what's striking, again, is the MUNDANITY. Could these people's lives be so narrow? Free of psychology, philosophy, or even soul-baringly meaningful conversation?
I mean, how many new years resolutions does one make in a life? Like 70-ish, if you're lucky. So people should make their new years resolutions over things that aren't ephemeral, even if the ephemeral is basically the tangible. Goals like being more aware of other people's feelings, making cards with hand-written messages to send to loved ones, deepening one's spiritual relationship with others, or try to be more self-sufficient, fulfilled, creative, would be superior.
Oh and happy new years eve!
